Quote of the Week

This is particularly hard to swallow when these opinions come from those we love and respect the most, they’re our parents and teachers, brothers and sisters, good friends and family. What’s even harder is that for most of us we’ve heard these opinions for years and years and chosen to believe them to be true for us. The thing to realise is that we can’t undo the past, we can’t unscramble those eggs, but we can choose from today not to make those opinions our reality.
Be very careful of the opinions of others that you allow in, even those who care for you can have the greatest of intentions. You have to remain true to who you are, you’re the author of your own story. The moment you choose to believe what others say you are or think you should do or have is the moment you give your power away.
You don’t have to be born brilliant, you just a have to work out what is your gift, everybody has one, and play to your strengths, find what feels good to you, what lights you up, what makes you passionate and pursue it with tenacity, determination, will, and believe in yourself, Les Brown put it best when he said, someone’s opinion of you does not have to become your reality.
